Off crutches only three weeks after high tibial osteotomy

Type: HTO Age: Under 50 Activity Level: High

This video, with its helpful, informative commentary, was made by a patient who recently decided to have a high tibial osteotomy (HTO). He demonstrates his varus deformity (bow-legging) before the surgery and enthusiastically shows the same leg – now straight – after the surgery.

It starts a few days before the operation, as he reflects on what lead him to his decision, and continues for about two months afterwards, recording his thoughts and feelings during the highs, lows, problems and worries encountered by a typical patient along the road to recovery.
